Hinckley, Minnesota Site - Note Frequency Change

Hinckley, from Duluth to Minneapolis

As the build out of Range Paging progressed the next step was filling in on I-35 towards the Twin Cities. Several locations were reviewed by our real estate consultant, Greg, NØGEF, and he decided on the Hinckley water tower.  He acquired an unused building and soon had a paging transmitter on the air.

The amateur installation is a Motorola GR300 repeater, not just a standard repeater but one that was configured by Dan, WRØDK, it is a bi-directional crossband repeater. It retransmits 442.925 from the IDS on 147.465 with a tone of 127.3 also known as 2A and if you transmit on 147.465 with an input tone of 114.8 it repeats that to the IDS 442.925 repeater. It uses a Comet GP-6 dualband antenna.
